Major Attractions of Rajasthan
Thar Desert – Thar Desert is referred as The Great Indian Desert. It is one of the largest deserts in the world. The desert is enclosed by Aravali ranges in east; in south you will see the great Runn of Kutch. Thar Desert is full of flora and fauna. Don’t forget to experience the golden ocean of sands.

Ghoomar and Kalbeliya are the famous dance style of Rajasthan. Rajasthani clothes are attractive, colorful and often contain mirrors and embroidery. Chaniya Choli the traditional dress of ladies is famous across the world.
Cuisines – Rajasthani Cuisines are mouth-watering. It has wide variety of dishes, each of them are delicious and appetizing. Some of the famous dishes are Dal Bati Churma, Gatte ki sabzi, ker-sangri, Rajasthani Sweets- Mawa Kachori, Alwar Ka Mawa, Malpuas.
Festivals – Rajasthan is popular for colorful festivals. Teej, Desert festival, Brahma temple festival, Runn festival, Pushkar fair and Brij Mahotsav. Brij Mahotsav is the most famous festival of Rajasthan, It is celebrated before Holi and it is devoted to the Lord Krishna.

Wild life sanctuary – Rajasthan has 6 national parks and 21 wild life sanctuaries which houses unlimited number of species of birds and animals. Some of the species which have become rare in other parts of India can be seen here in large number such as wild cat, lizards, wild ass etc.

Jaipur – Well known as Pink city, Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan. In 1876 Maharaja Ram Singh colored whole Jaipur in pink to welcome Prince of Wales and Queen Victoria as pink is the color of hospitality. Same tradition is followed even today and people use pink color in their houses. Famous tourist places in Jaipur are City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar observatory, Amber fort, etc.
Pushkar – Pushkar is one of the oldest pilgrimages of India famous for Pushkar fair and the only temple of Lord Brahma on the Earth. Some other famous tourist spots are Pushkar Lake, Savitri Temple, Varah temple, Camel Safari and Man Mahal. You can take Camel Safari for sightseeing.
Udaipur – Udaipur is referred by many names such as “Romantic City of India”, “City of Lakes”, etc. It is a historical city famous for Lakes and Palaces. some of the famous lakes are Pichola Lake, Fateh Sagar and Swaroop Sagar lake. Udaipur also has Solar Observatory, Gulab Bagh, Zoo and Ahar Museum which are visited by tourists.
Alwar – Alwar is a hilly area located amidst Aravali ranges. It is a beautiful city known for palaces, lakes and museums. It is just 160 kilometer away from Delhi and comes in National Capital Region. Main attraction in Alwar are Company Bagh, Bhangarh Fort, Government Museum and Karni Mata Temple
Jaisalmer – Jaisalmer is an ancient city also known as the golden city of India due to yellow sand. It is renowned for Forts, Palaces and Camel safari. Five famous things which you should visit in Jaisalmer are Gadisar Lake, Silk Route Art Gallery, Desert Nation Park and Jaisalmer fort.
Jodhpur – Rich in culture and history, Jodhpur is famous for its handicrafts. It is often referred as Sun City. Famous places to visit in Jodhpur are Mehrangarh fort, Flying fox, Clock tower and Umaid Bhavan Palace. It is one of the major cities of Rajasthan.
Bikaner – Bikaner is a world famous city for number of reasons ranging from historical places to cuisines. You can enjoy end number of mouth-watering dishes such as Dal Bati Churma, Rasgullas, Namkeen, sweets and snacks. Famous tourist spots in Bikaner are Junagarh Fort, Lalgarh Palace and Kote Gate.
Mount Abu – It is the only hill station in Rajasthan, located in Aravali ranges. It is surrounded with lush green forest. The climate remains cool throughout year that’s why it a retreat from scorching heat in summers. There are many tourist spots in Mount Abu such as Dilwara Jain Temple, Nakki Lake, Achalgarh, Guru Shikhar and Abu road.
