Athens City Tour + Acropolis & New Acropolis Museum +4 Days Classical Tour (Mycenae - Epidaurus – Olympia – Delphi - Meteora) + A Night Out In Athens offers a great 7N/8D Athens & Classical Greece Tour Package for Leisure Holidays in Greece. This Greek Holiday package is aimed to offer you a great tour to the major historical landmarks of the Greek mainland. In Athens you will visit the renowned Acropolis and the New Acropolis Museum with a vast collection of artifacts related to Acropolis history. During your stay in Athens you will have the chance, if you choose so, to do shopping and spend time downtown at the city centre and enjoy the nightlife of a city that never sleeps.

On the following days you will visit the ancient city – fortress of Mycenae with its glorious walls and tombs, the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus famous for its perfect acoustics, Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic games, Delphi, the greatest oracle of the ancient world and Meteora a stunning geological landscape that hosts one of the major Byzantine monastic complexes of the Greek Orthodox church.

Before you leave you will have a last taste of the Greek culture participating in a dinner with folklore show of traditional music and dances.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - Athens Arrival
Arrival at Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”. Meet our  representative and be transferred for check in at the hotel.  The rest of the day is yours for shopping and getting familiar with the city. Overnight in Athens.

Day 2 - Athens City Tour With Acropolis & New Acropolis Museum
After the breakfast is over you will be picked up from the hotel for the Athens City Tour (SIC).

While having the city tour you will visit the Panathenaic Stadium, which was the first stadium where the modern Olympic Games were held in 1896. (You will have a short stop for photos). Then we will head for the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian's Arch, the Parliament at Syntagma (Constitution) Square and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier (there you will have a short stop for photos and enough time to witness the change of the presidential guard), the Academy, the University and the National Library. On the top of the hill of Acropolis you will see the Wonder of the Golden Century of Pericles: The Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Niki (Victorious), the Erechtheion and last but not least the Parthenon. Later you will enter the New Acropolis Museum. After the tour is over you will be transferred back to the hotel. Overnight in Athens. (On Mondays the New Acropolis Museum is closed) (B)

Day 3 - 1st Day of 4 Days Classical Tour – Argolis – Olympia – Delphi - Meteora
After your breakfast, you will be  picked up  from the hotel  by coach and  leave straight forward for the 4 Days Classical Tour (SIC). On the way we will see the Corinth Canal, which unifies the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea, (short stop for coffee and photos). We will head to the ancient Mycenae, the city which Homer referred about in “Odyssey”. We will see  the Royal Tombs, the Lion's Gate and the Cyclopean Walls, etc. When this part is over we will have a brief visit at the town of Nafplio for some photos as well. Later we will leave for the   ancient Theatre of  Epidaurus, a very well known place for the its tremendous  acoustics and then we will continue our way to Olympia where the Ancient Olympic Games first took place. We will have dinner at the hotel and overnight at Olympia. (B,D)

Day 4 – 2nd Day of 4 Days Classical Tour – Argolis – Olympia – Delphi - Meteora
After your  breakfast is over,  we will visit the Archaeological Site (the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium) and the Archaeological Museum. Later on the way to Delphi, we will come across the recent bridge, a real Marvel of Mechanics, which starts from the town of Rio all the way to the other side to the town of Antirio. Then passing by the traditional  coastal towns of  Nafpactos  and Itea,  we will arrive in Delphi, check-in at the hotel for dinner and overnight. (B,D)

Day 5 – 3rd Day of 4 Days Classical Tour – Argolis – Olympia – Delphi - Meteora
After the breakfast, we will go to the Delphi the renowned Oracle of the Ancient world, we will visit the ancient site ( the Treasury of the Athenians &  the Temple of Apollo) and the Museum with artefacts  of the Ancient Greek Era. You will be able to see the famous bronze Charioteer statue.  In the afternoon, we will leave for the town of Kalambaka very close to Meteora.  Dinner and overnight at the hotel at Kalambaka (B,D)

Day 6- 4th Day of 4 Days Classical Tour – Argolis – Olympia – Delphi - Meteora
After the breakfast, we will begin the tour of Meteora which are included in the World Heritage List of UNESCO. The Meteora (meaning suspended) is a complex of Eastern Orthodox monasteries located on the top of the rocks. This way the six monasteries (we will visit two of them) seem like cohesive and elements of the rocks. The Byzantine architecture is obvious while you visit the monasteries and you will have the chance to also admire religious paintings which are kept safely in the monasteries. After the tour we will begin our way back to Athens and you will be transferred at the hotel for overnight. (B)

Day 7 Athens – A Night out
Breakfast at the hotel. You will have free time for shopping. In the afternoon you will be picked up from the hotel for a night tour in Athens (SIC). You will visit the Plaka area where you can stroll around the traditional alleys and see a Museum with a collection of more than 60 reconstructed Ancient Greek musical instruments from around the World. When your visit at the museum is over the representative will take you at a Typical Greek Tavern where you will enjoy your dinner with live music and a show of Greek folk dances in traditional costumes. After the show you will be transferred back to hotel for overnight in Athens. (B,D) 

Day 8 - Athens - Departure
After your breakfast, you will have some free time. You will be picked up and transferred from the hotel to the Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” for the departure flight. (B)
